Homemade Chocolate Syrup
Adapted from Amy Dacyczyn’s The Complete Tightwad Gazette
Makes 2 cups

½ cup cocoa powder
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
⅛ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon vanilla

On medium heat, add the cocoa powder and water in a saucepan and stir until cocoa is disolved. Add the sugar, stir to dissolve. Boil for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add the salt and the vanilla. Let cool. Pour into a glass jar or an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
